A phenomenal experience at restaurant Sens
It is all taking place in the little village of Vitznau (Switzerland). At that place are several Michelin Star restaurants located in this region. One of them is restaurant Sens, fine dining on its highest level. It belongs to the charming hotel Vitznauerhof.
We went to try it out and my word what an experience it was. It was sensational!
The location is one of the most beautiful spots, right at the Lake of Luzern, a setting where you immediately feel relaxed and far away form all the hustle and bustle of town.
We started outside in the glorious lounge where the views are to die for and the sunsets are a spectacle to watch.
Sipping a pink Champagne and and being served delicious and exquisite looking appetisers, what do you need more? Some were prepared in front of us which was exciting to see.
Later we were seated at a wonderful table inside where the party started.
A lot was happening in a very entertaining way. A parade of members of the staff and the great Chef itself arriving trough the kitchen doors. Each time carrying another dish and explained the ingredients directly at the table. It was a great spectacle to watch.
We were excited every time a new dish appeared. They totally looked like incredible pieces of art, some dishes were so clever with ingredients you would not expect to find it, but it was sensational!
The serving was outstanding and very professional, but all created in a very relaxed ambience. It was service with a big smile!
The very talented and sympathetic Chef de Cuisine of the restaurant is Jeroen Achtien(2 Michelin Stars). He was employed before in restaurant ‘De Librije’(Netherlands) awarded with 3 Michelin Stars.
We experienced an unbelievable night and culinary adventure, which we will look back on for a long time.
